The evening burns
with the afterglow of day
as the fifth month darkness
closes like a curtain call
and we sit in folding chairs
gazing at the theatre in the sky.
We watch the stars appear.
They are longing
for connection,
illuminating
what is held inside.
As their light
trickles through our heads
we feel the friendship
of ancient souls.
Darkness pulls
the strings that trail
beneath your heart.
The vastness
gives permission
to the deepest yearnings
lurking at the frontier
of healing and desire.
Will you bend your mind
to attend to your fingers
as they quietly stroke
the tempered glass?
Do you see the patterns
reflected back at you?
Are you distracted by events
and complicated questions
that beg for answers
only listening can solve?
Be present in your life.
Our minds are replaced
by a semblance of ourselves.
We are magnified in multiples,
imprisoned by our wants.
Overwhelmed by numbers,
we seek freedom from the noise.
The deepest connection
on this edge of totality
is found behind
our veil of differences.

Why Join Me?
Life is a series of lessons, and I’ve learned my share.
I’ve been the boss of other people and am learning how to be the boss of me.
I lived on my own at 16, learning things you can only discover on the street.
I’ve been married and divorced several times; each one was a major lesson in choosing a life partner. The last one was my best choice by far.
I’ve learned to live in the moment, let go of the past, and stop projecting into the future. Now I write about it all.
