It’s Tree Langdon from Medium and Linked In.
As promised, here’s A New Word, An Idea, and A Question.
A New Word
This is where I share a word that really should exist, one that should be in the dictionary.
Vulnerebel
Definition of Vulnerebel:
: living life with your heart wide open, willing to be visible.
: one who practices facing micro anxieties.
// Be a vulnerebel in life, love, and business.
// The first rule is: you DO talk about being a vulnerebel. (Plight Club)
An Idea
One great way to lean into your Aliveness is by increasing your vulnerability.
When you practice being vulnerable and visible, you discover ways that you have been hiding. You see the habits and excuses that you have been making in order to protect yourself.
To get started, ask these questions:
What am I hiding from myself?
Am I lying to myself?
Am I trying to protect myself?
From what?
Am I lying to myself in order to protect myself from … My Self?
Why on earth would I want to do that?
Shame is sometimes the reason that people want to hide.
They don’t want to admit something to themselves. When you are practicing self intimacy you are allowing yourself to be vulnerable with yourself. You show up as who you really are, warts and all.
Be real.
Allowing yourself to be vulnerable is giving yourself permission to drop all of the barricades in the fortress of protection that you have built. You are inside those walls that you have built; there is no point in trying to hide.
Vulnerable allowance is when you give yourself the permission to just be yourself, with all your faults and talents, be yourself to you, so that you can hear what makes you feel alive.
Let go of the should’s and the have to’s
These things truly don’t feed your aliveness because they aren’t yours.
They are things you’ve been programmed to do. They are the should’s and the have to’s. When you become self vulnerable you are giving yourself the freedom to live your way, to create a life that is your own.
Be a vulnerebel!
A Question
What are you hiding from yourself?
What are you willing to reveal to your heart?
