We fortify
our boundaries
to keep us
from unfurling
and protect our
wounded parts
as they stay inside
their pain.
We justify
the closing
and protecting
of our hearts
while blocking
the vitality
that flows
between our souls.
We reveal
the opening
by our careful listening
to the sounds of quiet
in the calls
of softness
that are found inside
our heart.
While abiding
in this center
we can choose to receive
instead of setting rules
that keep the others out.
Clouds lift
and shadows drift away
wants and wishes
fade into grey.
In the stillness,
love finds its way.
