Thanks Pete, I appreciate the information. I'll update my article so it's not confusing for new writers.

I don't see the "Feed of Posts" option for a new Substack I just created. Is it still available? I enabled recommendations and homepage links not realizing that these were only available for certain layouts. I'm guessing I enabled other options that removed the "Feed of Posts," am I right about that? Thanks in advance! I appreciate your time!

I had a look at your page and it looks like you've selected the Magazine Theme. Same as mine.

I can still see it on my Substack. I think the Feed of Posts is an option when you're choosing a Theme. If you go back into Settings and edit your Theme, you can see it on the left hand side as an option. If you choose the Magazine theme, then your Substack doesn't display a Feed of posts, it displays in the Magazine format. Does that make sense?

Hey just a quick update: I heard back from Substack support and they say they've discontinued the "feed of posts" option for new substacks because "some of our newer features (like podcasts) don't look great, or are not fully compatible in that view."

This reasoning seems a little weak since they're sacrificing an entire (very commonly used) format in favor of features that not everyone will use. Plus I don't get why they don't just have those new features disabled for people who use the "feed of posts" format. Isn't that what they've done with other features? Anyway, just letting you know since I found your post while troubleshooting this whole thing. Thanks again for your reply!

Thanks so much for your replies! That does make sense, but it's not what I'm seeing. I created a new substack as a test and it only shows "default" and "magazine" options. I am using the "feed of posts" option on two of my other substacks. I think I may have found a bug. I'm going to submit a support ticket. Thanks so much, again, for your replies!
